I don’t believe in cutting down trees to make my art. I like to find wood from previously fallen trees or trees that have needed to be cut down due to dangerous circumstances. My works are keeping these beautiful trees stories alive, keeping a record of the life they lived.
31.2% of all species of sharks are threatened with extinction. And given the rate at which some species are declining, scientists expect that figure to grow in the coming years. I created this print as a symbol to put an emphasis on how close these animals timelines are to ending. And if we don’t start doing something about it, we are going to have to explain to the next generation what a shark was and why they no longer exist rather then be able to show them these magnificent creatures.
