I don’t believe in cutting down trees to make my art. I like to find wood from previously fallen trees or trees that have needed to be cut down due to dangerous circumstances. My works are keeping these beautiful trees stories alive, keeping a record of the life they lived.
Only around 26,000 rhinos remain. this number includes five species spread across sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, three of which are critically endangered. If this number continues to drop, they will cease to exist completely. I created this print as a symbol to put an emphasis on how close these animals timelines are to ending. And if we don’t start doing something about it, we are going to have to explain to the next generation what a rhino was and why they no longer exist, rather then be able to show them these magnificent creatures.
